Comments: My mother has had alzheimers for 2yrs. She was repeating things and very confused. Two months ago she went from stage 2 to 4. Almost overnight. She is in a nursing home and I can not belive the change in her,she does not sleep she says "help me" "help me" when I ask what is wrong she will say I don't know. She is not eating she has lost 20 lbs in 2 months. She is catherized because her bladder won't empty. I don't know what to do at this point I can not believe this has all happened so quickly. I feel like I should be doing more and i don't know what to do. Sometimes she knows me sometimes she calls me YOU. I visit her every day but the stress on me is unbeliveable when I am not with her I call the nursing home to see if she is o.k. Can this disease move this quickly. My grandfather had it and now Mom. Will I get it also???? Someone reply. Please!!

Comments: I have been receiving THE RIBBON since its inception. As a caregiver for my mother who has Alzheimer's, it has taught me patience, understanding and has been most helpful with my responsibilities. Searching through this site, I am equally impressed with the dedication and contributions. Congrats to all who have made this possible. It is very much appreciated.

Comments: My mother-in-law was diagnozed 1 year ago. I need beginner help. It's starting to get bad, and I';m afraid her son (my husband) and her other son are in denial. there are only 2 sons which are near by. But it seems the daughter-in-laws are the ones to take charge. How do we get her to stop driving and move out of her house? I'm not sure trying to reason is the right way?! I want to sabotage her car, so she can't drive anymore. Am I wrong?
