Fresh Italian Tomato Salad

Make ahead, but very easy.

Quick and Easy
Easy to Chew

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 2 thick slices red onion, separated into rings
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh basil, or 2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 cup Italian salad dressing (Good Seasons)
  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced
  • fresh basil sprigs

Directions:

In a shallow dish, layer cheese, onion and basil. Pour 1/4 cup of the dressing over all.
Cover, refrigerate overnight, or at least several hours.
Bring to room temperature.Prepare 4 salad plates with lettuce,onions, mozzarella cheese and top with tomatoes. Pour remaining dressing over each plate and garnish with basil sprigs.
