The Ribbon - Care for Caregivers
Asparagus Impossible Pie

John from York, Pa says:
This is so simple and easy to make.

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes

Quick and Easy
Easy to Chew

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound asparagus, cut into 1 inch pieces (2 cups)
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded swiss cheese (6 oz.)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup bisquick
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • salt and pepper (to taste)

Directions:

Heat oven to 400 degrees.
Grease 9 inch pie plate (use the glass one mom gave you.) Put asparagus into a pan of water and bring to a boil until it starts getting tender (only a few minutes and then drain off the water.)
Brown the meat and onion.
Put the meat and onion into the bottom of the pie plate. Put the asparagus over the meat layer.
Mix the milk, eggs and bisquick together(this can be done with a spoon or a fork.) Pour the milk mixture over the meat and asparagus. Add the salt and pepper.
Sprinkle the cheese over the top. (If you want you could sprinkle some of the cheese before you put the milk mixture on.)
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and let it set for 5 minutes before dishing up.
You can use any kind of meat or vegetables. If you use fresh tomatoes slices, you have a cheesburger pie.
Enjoy!
